Hello, I'm Jack

I’m a multi award-winning hair stylist based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. I’ve worked across cutting and colour for more than twenty years, from precise, wearable hair through to major transformations and creative work.

Hairdressing has taken me around Australia and overseas, but I’m happiest working directly with clients. I still enjoy the small decisions that can completely change a result: the shape of a fringe, where colour is placed, how much weight is left in a haircut, or knowing when not to do too much.

Outside the studio, I’m interested in art, interiors, architecture and fashion. I also enjoy getting out into nature and being at home with my husband and our animals.

Choosing a new hairdresser?

As a stylist and colourist of over twenty years, I understand how challenging, and sometimes scary, it can be to find someone new to trust with your hair.

You’re not just booking a service. You’re sitting with someone new and trusting them with your appearance, your time, and how you hope to feel when you leave.

Feeling comfortable matters, but so does leaving genuinely excited about your hair!

I work with one client at a time, without overlapping appointments or a conveyor-belt feeling. There is time to talk properly before we start, work through the appointment without rushing, and either chat or sit in comfortable silence.

I’ll ask questions, listen carefully, and make sure we both understand what we’re working towards before we begin.

My Story

I began hairdressing in 2004 as a salon tea-and-tidy, sweeping floors and making coffees. I went on to complete a four-year apprenticeship at a nationally renowned Brisbane salon, recognised as one of the most awarded in Australia.

Over the years, I have owned and led a large salon, educated teams, presented in Australia and internationally, worked backstage at fashion weeks, and had my work published around the world. My career has spanned technical, creative, education and leadership roles, often with several happening at once.

Following a period away from hairdressing, I returned with a different view of what I wanted from the next stage of my career. Recreating the scale and structure of my previous business no longer held the same appeal.

I initially returned through a shared studio before opening my own space in Fortitude Valley. It was a deliberate move away from running a large salon and towards focusing on the hair and working directly with clients.
